ReachLocal CEO Sharon Rowlands Joins LSA Board of Directors

Today we announced the addition of Sharon Rowlands, CEO of ReachLocal, to our board of directors.  Sharon joins representatives from Google, Microsoft and Starcom MediaVest Group as the latest additions to the board.

As the press release states:

“Sharon brings more than 20 years of experience leading multi-billion dollar companies serving small and medium-sized businesses, financial markets and enterprise customers. As the leader of ReachLocal, she offers unique insight into the digital marketing activities of local businesses big and small.”

Over the last year, we have grown our board in order to be more inclusive and representative of the many digital marketing and advertising channels and platforms being used by businesses to connect with local consumers. Sharon brings to LSA a unique perspective on this dynamic space.

Sharon will also be a featured speaker and award judge at the 2015 Local Search Association Conference in Los Angeles, April 20-22. She will participate in a fireside chat discussing client experience and will join a panel discussion on local sales and small business advertiser retention.

As our board continues to evolve, we are similarly diversifying and expanding LSA membership. As I mentioned in a blog post earlier this year, we added 41 new members last year, and we have carried that momentum to 2015 with 16 new members so far.

“LSA is making great strides in changing the way we understand and measure local media and marketing. I can’t think of a better time to be in this dynamic and growing industry,” said Sharon Rowlands, CEO, ReachLocal.

All of these efforts represent our organization’s push to broaden our reach and influence on “the business of local.” With businesses big and small utilizing an unprecedented number of media outlets and channels to connect with local consumers, we are working to grow the market and help our members compete effectively within this dynamic space.

If you help businesses reach local consumers or help facilitate local purchases, or, more plainly, you are in the business of local, then you should strongly consider joining the LSA.  Click here for more on what LSA has to offer you and your organization.
