Yext Search Joins AWS Marketplace

Yext Search in AWS

Yext has established a new distribution channel for its search product: AWS. Specifically, Yext Search is now available in the AWS marketplace for users to easily add it to their enterprise software mix. This follows past Yext/Amazon alliances including Alexa’s addition to the Yext Publisher network in 2018.

For those unfamiliar, Yext Search integrates search functionality to any website or app in a low-code manner. It’s used for site search on some of the world’s largest brands (and Localogy for that matter). Its differentiation includes AI-driven natural language processing (NLP) for more intuitive answers.

Answers is the operative term, as Yext Search is a key component of Yext’s Answers platform. This is the company’s North Star, with the thought that people want answers rather than a list of links. And this value proposition is amplified among enterprises that provide site search for their users and customers.

It’s also highly customizable including the ability to modify the search index and UX. For example, businesses can display custom calls-to-action (CTAs) in site search results. Restaurants can offer one-click access to their reservation system. Retailers can do similar with eCommerce or curbside pickup.

Valuable Addition

Back to the AWS addition, this does a few things for Yext. One, it’s an additional distribution channel, as noted. This could provide non-overlapping distribution and traction beyond Yext’s other channels. And this comes with a bonus: the streamlined purchasing experience that AWS Marketplace is known for.

Part of that includes easy procurement, in that AWS customers can add Yext software licenses to their existing AWS bill. In addition to Yext Search’s software and solutions merits – and greater discoverability on AWS Marketplace – this streamlined procurement could be a bonus enticement for new users.

It’s also a targeted channel, given the high-value execs and developers that AWS Marketplace attracts. These buyers generally search from thousands of software listings from independent vendors that make it easy to test and deploy software that runs on AWS. Yext now becomes a valuable addition to that mix.

”Providing organizations with the option to transact directly through AWS Marketplace streamlines the purchasing experience, accelerates time-to-value, and expands the reach of our powerful search solution to AWS customers,” said Yext COO Marc Ferrentino in a release shared with Localogy Insider.
